Without further ado...... My trip to Colorado!
Leaving home:

Texas: where the clouds are made of cotton candy and unicorn fur.

Golden arches in new mexico!

Thats what I like about...... Denver???

The carrot's family reunion. (no this is not a painting.... Just really well edited photograph)
We're HERE!

All those littles specks are paper airplanes..... People get bored.

Some dude started a wave!

Then we hiked....

And hiked.

And hiked....

And guess what guys?! We hiked!!!!!

Gabe didn't do much hiking.

See he just sat.

After emerging from deep in the mountains we went to a thrift store..... Where I saw THE worst tie ever. EVER.

Eh. What's up doc?
So that's about all the pictures I took! What would you guys think if I did a weekly adventure like this where I take pictures and caption them and stuff..... You like this, yes. *strokes beard*

NaNoWriMo, absence, and why I don't write fan fiction.
Hey Guys! So as always I have been entirely absent of the bloggerverse. Call me John, but this post comes to you in three parts!
Part one: I am doing NaNoWriMo this year, are you? This is my first year and I just wanted to ask: who else is? If you are just comment below or send me a tweet (I am always on twitter) we could have word battles or something. Yea? (I said yea as another ode to john green)NERDFIGHTASTIC!!!
Part two: So in my absence I decided two things:
1. I WILL HAVE NO TIME FOR BLOGGING DURING NaNoWriMo!!!!!!
2. Uncoolcarrot is starting to look a little busy and my post have lost their vigor.
So during November I will not blog HERE, the site will be under construction going back to the perfect simplicity of the earlier carrot. But I should add, gracefulsarcasm.bloodspot.com is my writing blog and I will update my word count and stuff there...... Yea?
Part three: why I don't write fan fiction. I've always thought fanfic to be a bit cheesy. I feel that if an author creates a character, they should completely control that character. If you took one of the muppets and set them in the middle of Hogwarts, is it still THE muppets? No! It's a felt frog at a school for wizards. I for one find it un-original. Find your own character.

Disney channel is EVIL
Modern entertainment is, lets face it, terrible. Cartoon network writers are on angel dust. Nickelodeon can't think of any lasting idea, therefore squeeze everything they could possibly get out of spongebob. Then there's the dreaded Disney channel. Ooooohhhh disney channel. Where do I start?! Disney channel caters to the modern idea of ten year olds being teens, and bad ones at that. Shows like "Hannah montanna" and "Shake it up" would make Walt Disney roll over in his grave. Anyone that has ever even heard of me would know one thing if not anything else: I love "a goofy movie"
But other Disney animation too:
Goof troop
House of mouse
Timon and pumbaa
Rescue rangers
Tailspin
Shall I go on? When I was younger I could go and WATCH reruns of these on the TELEVISION! Now you have to have the EVERLOVIN OSHBEGOSH BOX SET SEASON!!!!! (or a lot of patience with the Internet) to watch these.
Plus it's not JUST the shows Disney.com used to have games, fun ones.
I know I sound like such a child but if I wanted to play EVERLOVIN Hannah craptanna I would go to Disneychannel.com!!!!!!
My point: they ripped my OSHBEGOSH childhood off of the Internet and out of my hands. If I wanted to show my brother or kids, I couldn't.
So are you with me?!

Katie Alender interview!
Here is my interview with this lovely author:

That wrote this fantastic book:

Reader question from SHADOWHUNTER on goodreads:
How did you get started writing?
I've been writing pretty much since third grade. In terms of novels, I
was working in development for TV, coming up with show ideas for kids
and teens. We worked on so many big ideas that never went anywhere,
because the networks were looking for something else--I wanted to
write something that would take an idea all the way from the first
"what if?" all the way to finding out the ending! So I decided to
write a book.
Now MY questions!
Carrot: Favorite authors?
Katie: Paula Danziger, Jane Austen, Amy Tan, DH Lawrence, Roald Dahl, Stephen
King, JK Rowling
C: Do you listen to music while you write? If so do you think it affects
the plot at all?
K: I don't listen to music at the exact time I'm writing... I listen to
music between writing sessions! I have a playlist for each book that
definitely reflects the mood and feeling of the entire project, or
even specific scenes and character relationships. I'd say the plot
affects the music rather than the other way around.
Zombies or Unicorns *hint ZOMBIES*
But if I choose unicorns, my magical unicorn friend can help me skewer
zombies while I ride around on his back. So...
C: A Goofy Movie or Scooby Doo?
I never saw A Goofy Movie! *cringe* Dare I say it was "after my time"?
Scooby Doo by default! But really I prefer the Jetsons. Love that
futuristic world!
C: What is the best "fan encounter" ever on tour?
K: I've never been on tour, but I've been to lots of events and met tons
of fans. I would say one of the most memorable was recently when some
authors and book bloggers went out to dinner after an event. I was
driving a bunch of bloggers, and a city bus almost drove right into my
car! So now I have a reputation for being a terrible driver, even
though it was totally not my fault!
And lastly I have to ask:
C: Best "Evil Squirrel" story
K: Well, right now our evil squirrels are the ones who eat all of our
peaches before they're ripe. The worst part is that they'll get a
peach down from the tree, take one little bite, and then leave it
sitting on the railing. It's like they don't even want the
peaches--they just don't want us to have them! Another crazy squirrel
encounter I had was at my old house, when I looked out into the
backyard one day to see a squirrel stretched out spread-eagle in the
grass, totally motionless. I thought maybe he'd gotten electrocuted on
the power lines and fallen, and I was worried about having a dead
squirrel in my yard. So I watched him for a couple of hours, and he
didn't move. Then, all of a sudden, he got up and left. I still wonder
what the heck he was doing.
C: And that's all! Thanks for doing this!
K:My pleasure!
Here's a page with useful links to images and all katie's webby info.
Who should I interview next? (please tell me emails or contact info). ~and remember to eat your carrots!

What the?!/ it's meeeeeeeeeee!!!!!
Friday, July 15, 2011
Oh crap! Thank God it's still technically July 15 FLASH FICTION BLOGFEST!
It's independence day and the unexpected happens.....
I walked quietly towards the food table I counted about fifty bowls of potato salad and recoiled. I dropped my empty plate in the trash. Forth of July food is not the greatest. To say the least. I plopped down at an empty table and seconds later I was joined with my cousin Zach. "Sucks we can't have fireworks. Burn ban, smurn sman." he said suddenly. I replied with a nod and sigh. POP! we all turned around wide eyed. To a fire that came suddenly out of nowhere and spreading over the grass like, um wildfire. It caught the corner of the tent and people swarmed in panic. Once the fire was finally out the park was practically in ashes a grumble seemed to let out over the entire body of people and soon everyone had driven away. Thank God, I thought. I don't have to eat the potato salad, I mean nobody died!

I know I can't stop talking about this movie but LOOK!
Grrrrr I know I haven't been blogging like at all for a while soooooo..... Let me show you something cool and prove some people wrong. Ha. People say "A GOOFY MOVIE" is just a lost bit of animation nobody cared about, a movie long advertisement of "GOOF TROOP" the 90s tv show, and a waste of tv air time. THOSE PEOPLE ARE WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!! *gameshow buzzer* it has gone unappreciated even after it has effected so much. The dance in the picture above "the perfect cast" is startlingly similar to "crank dat soulja boy" a well known dance of today. The fake teen sensation Powerline is a representation of Michael Jackson who dies fifteen years later suddenly becoming a GINORMOUS DEAL even to those who hadn't paid a second glance to him before. This movie is SO DRASTICALLY UNAPPRECIATED! If you went up to 100 people in a focus group and asked who there favorite girl Disney character 90% would name some disney princess only 10% would say Roxanne. ~and remember to eat your carrots!
